Ferret, mice, hamster, rats. Which to get?

I was thinking of getting a small fury but I dont know what. I once had 2 mice before and they were fun but I was always afraid of holding them as they seemed so small and frail. Ive had a hamster when I was young and he was lovely. I have met a pet ferret before and they seem so friendly and fun and less fragile then mice or hamsters. I was considering getting a rat/s before but I didnt have room so I got mice. Basically I cant make my mind up and I need to know all the details about all 4 animals. Ferret and rats especially. thankyou :)
