Horse has the "heaves". Suggestions?

I'm curious as to what treatment the vet has instituted? There are FDA approved treatments for heaves ( recurrent airway obstruction and inflammatory airway disease (RAO and IAD)). I hope you won't give anything without first consulting with your vet. Heaves is a serious medical condition and treatment requires veterinary management and monitoring. Herbal remedies are unproven for safety and efficacy, and there is nothing magical in them. Since some can do harm, and they can interact with other treatments, your vet should be consulted before you start giving them to you horse.
